Overcoming The Challenges of Life

Overcomers Overcoming

Everyone has a story that is worth hearing and I feel honored to have been invited to the Overcomers Overcoming podcast with Ron & Marty Cooper to share my story, inspire others and bring hope to people. My last interview was on A Woman’s Soul Restored. This new interview is also about overcoming the challenges of life with true stories to inspire you to know that you are not alone in whatever you are experiencing. There are multiple solutions to all of life’s dilemmas, and nothing is too difficult to overcome. It’s about thinking through your current life situation and uncovering a new outlook on life to live a more sustainable existence.

Facing The Challenges of Life

I spoke about my journey of being adopted and my foundation of being abandoned and rejected from earlier than 6 yrs old. I always deeply admired my biological mother but there was always a sense of disconnection between us. She never wanted me or accepted me as her child. At a very young age I remember trying to figure out what I can do to get this woman to love me, to accept me, put her arms around me and let me know that she is there and she cares.

This formed an unhealthy pattern that deeply affected my journey to adulthood. At first I blamed myself and thought something was wrong with me. I was never able to rationalize why I was being treated this way. I had an older sibling and younger ones as well but I was the only one who experienced this treatment of abandonment and rejection.

Finding Freedom & Overcoming The Challenges of life

The host also asked what I have to say to others who may have gone through a similar journey of rejection, abandonment and unmet expectations. Some people may be experiencing anger, rejection or isolation.

I responded by asking people who are going through these phases to consider the effect that the frustration and isolation has on their life and how it affects their partners, children, and job. Don’t think you are alone with what you are going through. Give yourself a chance, as long as you are living, to find that freedom, that better quality of life. Those negative emotions of the past could affect not only you but your family and loved ones.

People who love you should not feel the residue of your past but the best of you. You owe it to yourself to break free. Statistics said I would be more likely to give away my children, abuse them or not be able read or write effectively. But today I hold 2 degrees and have worked in several positions and have a warm and loving relationship with all my children. So my life is a testimony to the truth that If you cultivate a spirit of determination then statistics will never define you.

“I’m not created to be bitter, I’m created to be better! To give my children the best of me!” ~ KIM
