Living in Purpose After Rejection

Living in Purpose After Rejection

A God Shift with Shayna Rattler is a podcast that empowers individuals to move out of disruption into a greater destiny, expectancy, and possibility. On the show, individuals, organization leaders, and ministry leaders share their story of when their life collided with God’s purpose and put them on the path that was designed for them. Through listening, you can learn how elevating God’s position in your life unlocks the door to bounce back from setbacks, disappointments and uncertainty so you can confidently enter into your next chapter and continue living in purpose. It was a pleasure for me to be featured in an episode to share my story.

Living in Purpose Towards A Greater Destiny

I started with a brief introduction  for our listeners to get to know me. I am a very courageous, resilient, caring and loving person. Beautifully and courageously made by my father: God. I have 4 beautiful children and 1 minor who just turned 6. They are my heartbeats. I also have 6 beautiful grandchildren. I am a case manager and love helping people navigate resources and get the best quality of life in their community.

The host defined disruption as anytime a situation in your life collides with God’s purpose and moves you into a greater destiny. I have a few disruptions in my life. The first was when I was taken to my paternal aunts home and abandoned by my biological parents. For me it was a broken foundation and I had to rely on God to overcome it and continue living in purpose towards the future that he had mapped out for me. I was raised by my adopted dad and he would pray, sing spirituals and hymns and he thought me that God loves me more than him and I could talk to him. This upbringing formed the foundation for my relationship with God.

The host asked about my experience at an early age and why I think I found myself in that situation.

I believe that we all have a purpose-driven life and I had to experience the abandonment and rejection to give my own testimony to the truth of what God can do for your life. I could have chosen to be bitter, angry, hateful and unforgiving but I chose the opposite. I always knew that there were people who had a worse situation than me and experienced horrible events in a foster home. All the events I went through helped to shape me into who I am today. So in a sense, it is all for my good and for the glory of God.

What will be my best tip for helping someone overcome disruption?

I would say to invest in yourself. To personally have a relationship between you and God, and submit everything. Everything! Personally, I have taken the time to connect more with Him. I belive that I am worth it. I am worth investing in, I am worth loving, just as God loves me.
