Embracing Life's Scars
Embrace Life with Regina Harrell is a show to inspire you. It is about finding strength through your struggles, defining your purpose, and embracing life’s scars that helped to create your character. Regina Harrell is a motivational strategist who believes that dreams motivate you but purpose defines you. It was truly a pleasure to be invited to share my story in this episode.
I started by introducing myself. I love to travel around the country, speaking and inspiring people. I am a mother of 4 adult children. I still work in the public sector as a case manager, doing counseling and I am just blessed to be able to serve and continue to serve.
“Life is a journey, but it’s the means to our purpose. Where would we be without rejection, trauma, and let downs? We are bruised not broken, we all have scars, we just must embrace it all.” ~ R. H
Bruised But Not Broken
After introducing me, the host started by asking me to share my testimony to the people.
“I had to truly get to the foundation of my rejection, my abandonment issues, my hurt, my self esteem, my self worth..” ~ K.I.M
I had to accept that all of those things did happen. My foundation was broken. As a child, I experienced the feeling of abandonment from the first protectors in my life and felt responsible for what they had done. For years I felt this guilt that what happened in my life was normal because I did not know anything else. I had to go back and accept that it was not a normal situation but embrace that it did not have to stay that way.
Accept & Embrace It All
The host loves the phrase “Accept & Embrace It All.” She spoke about how she came up with the phrase “Embrace Life”.
We all go through a lot of ups and downs, rejections, but she learned to embrace life’s scars and all that comes with it. You have to embrace the bad too. If it wasn’t for the bad then we will not be where we are now.
The host also highlighted how a lot of times when we go through these things our children look up to us as role models and learn from how we handle these situations. She remembered how she used to play cards and her grandma used to say it’s all in how you play it. She would teach her lessons about life through cards.
Later in life she learned not to limit God. We have all been through things but we have to trust God through it because he has given us that strength but everybody can’t go through what we go through. Everybody has a specific journey that they have to go through.
“We serve a limitless God…and I want you to keep relying on that limitless God because man will limit us.” ~ K.I.M
